Hundreds of people poured into Comber this weekend from all over the county for the annual Comber Fair. Fairgoers of all ages gathered for Sunday’s popular event, the demolition derby. The event had five divisions, including classes for eight cylinder, six cylinder, four cylinder, pickup trucks, and the newly added mini-van class.
The photo shown is of the eight cylinder class derby. The derby put local volunteers and firemen to work as they worked together to clean-up debris and extinguish a few small fires. All drivers put a lot of time and effort into their vehicles and all put in a great performance. In the end, Steve Anderson won the eight cylinder class derby. He celebrated by jumping up onto his car, waving the official flag.
Overall the demolition derby was a great success. All of the organizers, volunteers, drivers, & crew put in a lot of hard work to ensure the event was entertaining.
